Martin Luther King Jr. Day Closure
Surplus Property will be CLOSED on Monday, January 20th, 2025 in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday. No retail operations, auction viewing, or auction pickups will occur on this day.

Items for Sale at Surplus Property
Surplus Property receives new items every day, throughout the day. We list featured items on craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, and X with photos, prices, and descriptions. Specialty items, vehicles, and large lots are posted on GovDeals.
If you are looking for more information, or have questions on the items we have available, please call or e-mail us as our items sell quickly. Or, better yet, come on by and see what we have in stock! Click the logos below to visit each site! All items are sold first-come, first-served, and are subject to prior sale.
Due to the nature of our dynamic inventory, we are not currently able to publish a list of our inventory online and instead highlight items on an ongoing basis.

Surplus Property offers two e-mail lists. Join our Public Sales and Auctions list for the latest finds at Surplus. If you are a campus department, be sure to join our Departmental Sales list for unique notifications specific to departments on campus. Both lists offer self-service registration where you can choose the list to join within each service or unsubscribe if necessary.

We appreciate that you want to find a new home for your things! However, due to CSU Fiscal Policy and State rules, Surplus Property is not able to accept donations of goods or equipment from the public or from other businesses. We suggest you take your items to the many local thrift or charity businesses that may be able to accept your items.
Surplus Property is open Weekdays from 7:30am – 4:00pm. We are closed all University Holidays, but are OPEN during academic breaks.
Due to the dynamic nature of our business, we are not currently able to provide online viewing or a list of items available. We publish a Monday Walkthrough video each week that shows many of the items that we currently have in store. We also post our items on Facebook Marketplace. Our online auctions are available on GovDeals. We’re open to the pubic Weekdays from 7:30am – 4:00pm. Come check out what we have available!
Great! Please visit our Send Items to Surplus page for more information on how to get that process started. Please understand that all property disposal must be approved by Property Management before Surplus Property is able to accept it. We routinely have delays in pickup scheduling, so please plan ahead and get your request in early!
We do not allow non-departmental holds of any kind for any reason. All items must be removed of at the time of purchase.

Electronics Recycling For Students, Faculty, & Staff
Have an old computer, cell phone, monitor, microwave, or laptop and don’t know how to dispose of it properly? Surplus Property will accept personally owned electronics from students, faculty, and staff for recycling for our standard service fee. All data containing electronic devices (cell phones, hard drives, etc.) are sanitized before destruction or re-sale.

Jake Drenth
Surplus Property Manager
Serving Since 2008
Jake Drenth joined the Surplus Property team in 2008 as the Department Manager. In his role he oversees the daily operations of the department including all aspects of sales, refurbishment, and recycling of the University’s unused equipment. With sustainability as a primary focus, he is a member of the University’s President’s Sustainability Commission which looks to advance sustainability measures across campus. He is also the acting Vice President of the University Surplus Property Association (USPA) and a member of the National Property Management Association (NPMA) and the College and University Recycling Coalition (CURC).
Marcelino "Lino" Martinez
Surplus Property Operations Manager
Serving Since 2003
Marcelino embarked on his journey with Surplus Property in 2018, taking on the role of Operations Manager, following a 15-year tenure as a Delivery Driver with Central Receiving. His responsibilities encompass the orchestration of all pickups and deliveries, the management of received goods, and the supervision of student employees within the warehouse. Recently, Marcelino has expanded his role to include a more active participation in Online Sales and technology refurbishment.
